SENIOR PS3 ENGINEER
Atomic is looking for a senior engineer with PS3 development experience for a highly anticipated historically themed military shooter.
In this position, you will specialize in PS3 technology, multi-threaded programming, graphics, physics, and core engine technologies. You will have the autonomy you want -- as well as the support you need -- to create original, world-class applications and entertainment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain the core technology to be used on multi-platforms/projects.
Analyze code performance and optimize code appropriately for speed and memory usage.
Design and implement new systems based on new research or techniques.
Create and complete task list and schedule based on design.
Absorb documentation on new hardware & systems software in order to implement features on sometimes immature hardware.
Contribute to the overall design of the technology plan for the company and game titles.
Research new techniques in graphics, animation and AI fields and assess their suitability for adoption into the technology.
Participate in project planning and scheduling.
Provide accurate time estimates for completion of engineering tasks.
Identify technical risks and propose solutions.
Participate in design and code reviews.
Create technology that is reusable and adaptable for future projects.
Stay abreast of the latest trends and ideas in your technical specialties.
Mentor junior level software engineers.
REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. or Masters Degree in Computer Science.
Minimum of 6 years videogame industry experience and a shipped title on the PS3.
Minimum of 2 shipped console titles.
Excellent working knowledge of C and C++.
SPU, PPU and RSX programming experience.
Multithreading/multiprocessor programming.
3D rendering pipeline knowledge.
Strong working knowledge of current console technologies.
Wide range of experience with game development techniques and technologies.
Ability to work within an established code framework.
Experience with automated build systems and unit test frameworks.
Ability to finish tasks on time with a high level of code quality.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Excellent planning and documentation skills.
Passion for making and playing videogames.
Legal U.S. work authorization required.
HELPFUL:
Solid 3D math skills.
Experience in client-server and distributed processing.
Windows programming experience.
Experience with XML parsers.
3ds Max and Maya plugin development knowledge.
Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, and LUA.
Experience with Qt.
Experience designing and developing game engines.
Experience designing easy to use graphical user interface.
Linux, BSD, Solaris, or SGI development experience.
Team leadership experience.
